Usually, climbers don't climb along the Lower Western Rib. There's nothing wrong with trying but it will 'waste' time. When snow covers everything, climbers may bootpack up the opening between the Lower & Upper Western Ribs. The drainage between the Upper Western Rib & the Central Rib's Bench is usually avoided due to the rockfall hazard. The main drainage is the Owen-Spalding Couloir. The drainage to the west of the LWR is the Dartmouth Couloir.
