The Grand Teton Climb

You won't find many wildflowers while on the climbers' trail at this time of year but a few hardy blue bells are hanging in there.

A lot of the trail work goes unnoticed underfoot.

Ice on the western side of the Needle. This is a drainage area. You will usually find better conditions once you get on the Central Rib's Bench.

Lower & Upper Western Ribs (left & Center)

The Briggs Slab, and the Eye of the Needle in the background. We took the upper ledge just below the Briggs Slab to reach the EOTN. We had crampons with us but we had no desire to put them on before reaching the Upper Saddle.

Looking back at the Briggs Slab after taking the upper ledge (just below slab) to reach the southern side of the Chockstone Chimney, and access to the EOTN.

The point where Sargent's narrows. Keep to the right side to reach Sargent's Rappel. Take the left side to use the alternate exit - Hidden Exit.

Approach to summit after leaving Sargent's. You go straight up toward the middle of the photo. You stay on the left side of the larger rocks to your south until you reach the Slabby Wall with the center crack. The crack points back toward Sargent's and up toward the summit. You can use some 'switchbacks' to reach the summit or climb the crack.

Looking back down Sargent's Hidden Exit. Sargent's Rap is about 20' to the south.
